Because I Can't

by Keili   Jan 30, 2006

I wish it was true
If only I could say it back,
I wish I could love you too
Because I can't.

We've only known each other a little while.
I'm sure you don't even know my real name
Watch me throw your love in the heaping pile.
Because I can't.

Thank you for not making me say it
For to look within,
Would be to find a big black pit.
Because I can't.

Too many heartbreaks
if only you came sooner,
But now I stand on the other side other side of the black gates
Because I can't.

All I can give out are friendships.
Reflecting on times long gone,
I try not to remember the hardships
Because I can't.

Unless you can preform miraculous magick,
I cannot forget or move on,
I turn everyone's life to havoc!
Because I can't.

I wish I could
I know I need to move on
But I can't forget what happened in the hood.
Because I can't.

Will you please help me?
If what you claim be true
I no longer want to remember or to see.
Because I can't.

It hurts too much to love
I can only hope it will change
And I'll be able to fly away like the ever-pure dove.
Because I can't.

I wish it was true.
I wish I could say it back
I wish I could love you too.
Because I can't.

*To love is to enclave thine heart in a cage made to bar all good things and allow entrance to only the bad, that hurt you and tear you apart*
