The midst of you

by Bexx   Jan 31, 2006

Standing on the edge of the abyss

I look down knowing

I have to reach the bottom first to make it all the way across

But this ledge is just another

in a collection I've descended

Thinking from the top that each time I went down

was the farthest I could go

Each time I was proven wrong

but as the spray of the mist

that clouds my vision of the bottom

hits my face

I know in my heart I can't make it any further down

thinking in my head

"would it be easier to just jump"

wondering if another 40 ledges is enough to kill me

Forget the past I wish to fall

All I need is a little push

maybe one more lie from you

free falling floating as I sink

to the bottom of this mist

when I reach the bottom I'll forget

forget about the lies

forget the feelings shared

forget your kiss

forget all the things I've missed

But to my surprise

when I lightly land on the bank

of this river of memories

most have some remnants of you

was letting go a mistake

I have to climb back up

but Im afraid because in that mist is the midst of you

For translating your poems from sign language into words, I think you did very well on this poem. I am currently learning sign, so this was of interest to me.
