A Day of Life...

by Miss Megan   Feb 1, 2006

The bright, blue sky is above me,
The hard cold ground is beneath my feet.
A chilly breeze flows through my hair,
I can hear the trees sway through the air

I am only one person,
Out of more than I can count.
How am I, me...
Going to get my wise words out?

A pencil between my fingers,
A notebook across my lap.
i hear two women talking,
as their two children begin to laugh.

A bird chirps every now and then,
The leaves rustle upon the grass.
Such a simple piece of work,
but a very complicated task.

Each word I put down,
Is a word I call my own.
My mind works in mysterious ways,
Through the years along with me it has grown.

Looking around,
So much to see.
My mind beings to wonder,
There are so many thoughts within me.

Grasping my pencil and notebook,
With everything inside of me.
The clouds have gone dark,
The sun is no longer shining.

Tears from the sky,
Come crashing down to earth.
I notice the change around me.
The ground drenched, the air so pure.

Sitting still all alone,
Pondering on such a day.
Nature does so many things,
Nature has its own way.

Quickly sheltering my self,
From the wetness above.
I reach the warmth of home,
I feel the tenderness of love.

The pattering of rain had suddenly ceased.
My window began to dry.
The roses outside shot up again,
For sun has cured their cry.

The sunset ahead,
So colorful it is.
It ended a wonderful day,
Even a day such as this.

I set my writing tools down,
I get ready for sleep.
I keep my self protected,
And pray my soul to keep.

i pray for a day as good tomorrow,
as I say my last goodbye.
For tonight I simply dream and realize,
Everyday is a day of life...
