I Will See You Again

by kelsielaroche   Feb 1, 2006

this poem i wrote for my Grandpa who passed away February 1st.

Remember when I was little and could sit upon your knee,
You would tell me stories and past memories,
Those days I will never forget,
Even though your presence is no longer here,
Your face and spirit are with me,
And I hold them dear.

I remember the morning you went,
My eyes swelled up with tears,
My mind was racing faster then ever before,
The words they told me, didn't seem to be coming out clear.

Maybe you're better off,
Soaring high above the clouds,
I never had the chance to say thank you,
Or kiss you goodbye on the hand,
If only I had that moment,
Before you had to leave,
But I know now you soar above me,
Even though I may not be able to see.

Just remember one thing,
You were the greatest one of all,
Your scent, and stories and smile,
I will cherish them all.
I know there's no way,
Of you ever returning,
But I'll be seeing you someday,
Maybe not standing in front of me,
But in my dreams.
