Faded Makeup

by •§ аηgÑ”l §•   Feb 2, 2006

Looking in the mirror,
she'll look pretty tonight.
So much makeup,
there's no need for fright.

She'll meet him for the first time.
A melody so soft it won't have to rhyme.

Gracefully she walks to the door.
The sound it rings, again. Once more.

Slowly opening it,
and as she sees him,
her heart feels like it's been hit.
Love at first sight.

He takes her out with a smile.
This date only lasts for awhile..
As soon as the moon hits the sky,
she feels like she's about to cry.

He chasing after her,
she's trying to run away.
Everyone's afraid to move,
what happened to this day?

A knife in his hand,
blood on the floor.
What could you ask for?
What would you want more?

The doors slam open,
she's in the corner now.
The police take him away,
and she's left to ask herself how..

Sitting at the dresser,
that mirror only seems so small,
when just a few hours ago,
it looked like it was tall.

Faded makeup.
She looks away.
Wishing this never happened.
But it's no different,
it's just another day.
