A Poem You Will Never Read

by Stephanie   Feb 3, 2006

I write this with all of the shattered pieces of my heart
I'm tired of being fake around you, smiling and acting like a total tart.

I've changed, we've changed- but didn't you say it was the best thing for us to do?
You say you care and that we're good friends, but my mind is saying that it's all untrue.

All I ever wanted was to see you happy.
So I make-believe I'm fine- when really, I feel crappy.

I write you letters and poems that your eyes will never see.
Most of them end up being the same- telling you how much you hurt me.

But I choose to keep this all a secret so you can live your life.
You'll never know how much my heart bleeds from the stabs of lost love's knife.
