The Thorn and the Stranger

by Whispering*Willow(Mercedes)   Feb 5, 2006

It's all about love and it's all about anger
I stabbed a thorn into a stranger
All the blood came gushing together
On the road, and on my sweater

I plucked that thorn straight from a rose
A thousand years it took to grow
I've stained it red you know
And screamed for help to let me go.

I watched him fade there on the street
And my anger I could not keep
But sat there in the blood to weep
A mistake. A mistake made by me.

I lost the stranger in my blood
The thorn killed us both in that flood
The pain is cruel, but so was what I did
And in the end we didn't win.
