You gave him his last breath.

Before you read the poem take a moment to read this; on february first my aunty's bf died of lung cancer, he knew he had it but he still smoked each day. He began to cough up blood and my aunty started driving him to the hospital.. he looked at her and said i love you then he fainted. So my aunty pulled the car over and gave him mouth to mouth, each time she did his chest moved a little.. but blood was still coming from his mouth. The ambulance came, and they rushed him to the hospital where she called my mom and they waited patiently. About 20 minutes later the doctor came out and told them he had passed away in the room. The first thing that came from my aunty's mouth was "i gave him his last breath."

It was you who changed his life
gave him a reason to smile
without you aunty
his life wasn't worth while.
Together you grew a love
that some may call a joke
but you both knew that it was true
but cancer's how it broke.
He smoked each day knowing
soon his life might end
but that didnt matter to him
because beside him was his best friend.
That was you aunty,
you gave him his last breath
he thought of you, and said Ill do it
and then went up his chest.
Everyday he called you beautiful
which I believe is true,
i'msure if he was with us again
hed say his life was because of you.
Everyday that man thanked God
with words I'm sure were true.
because even though God gave him cancer
He lead him straight to you.
