Footprints

I see you starring back at me, smiling like you always do.

You look so happy in that moment of total bliss, and nothing could hurt you.

You've finally moved on with your life and left me in the dust.

I try to run and catch up with you but always seem to stumble.

You leave your footprints behind and I want so badly to follow, but I realize now I must move on and make my own footprints.

You taught me so much in the little time I knew you and I am thankful each day for that.

But now I want to mone on and begin a new chapter in my life.

The footprints you left me are a beginning. A beginning for me to start my new life.

They will forever be imprinted in my heart and I will always love you for that!
