Slowly Dying

by xmedicatexmex   Feb 7, 2006

And when it comes to pass
She's alone again
"There's nothing wrong with being lonely"
But there is
When the feel of the steel on your arms
Is all that is getting you by

Too scared to cut too deep
Burned so many times
But how many count
When they've never gotten close
To the demon inside

She'll push them away
This guard is too precious
The strong one, the proud one
The air of mystery
She has to hide it all
They wouldn't believe how it feels

The words cut deep
Into how she feels
But they're the best place to hide
Short conversations and hushed words
Keep him close
But far enough away
From the truth

He's determined to get in
But not get involved
She's just a standby to him
But he's everything to her
No melodramatics
Everything
But she refuses to humiliate herself for him
She would never die for him
Not knowingly
But without her realising
He's killing her slowly
