Fading

by Lady in Red   Feb 10, 2006

I am fading slowly

I put a ribbon in my hair

I look at the mirror

And a stranger stares back

She's a beauty

With tears in her eye's

I take a washcloth

To cover up the lies

She smiles at me

And I just shake my head

She frowns and puts on the lipstick

I wipe it off my lips smearing it

The ribbon that was blue

Is now a solem boring gray

This girl that stares back at me

Isn't a stranger to everyone

That's who they all know

I'm the girl who's always hiding

Behind the make-up

Slowly fading behing this smile

Wow, nicely done.. It's kinda like the idea of Imagery then contrasting it, when you write about the lipstick.. I liked that part.. I'm rambling, but it works really well.. Well done
