Avocado

by Sagini Ok   Feb 10, 2006

Years, months and days have gone by
Never have I seen it fall in a storm
Though branches may break at the force
And fruits may Fall down at the force
But never‘d I see it fall in a storm
Against the high currents in the sky
With dangerous whispers on every leaf
The storm steals its path through the branches
As it spreads terror to a freezing point

You planted it and left it to grow
It grew up high and deep down the soul
Rooted deep on a young heart
It fed form every resource from the virgin heart
And you left it to grow mightier and stronger
That when the storm broke it fought like a mighty soldier
I thought the storm ‘d take it away
But it stood its ground and overcame the odds
And brought the joy of today, that we enjoy
The uncompromising heart of a love deep within

Today I experience the joy of perseverance
The fruits of a distant future yet to come
With handshakes of joy and bowels of endurance
Only to end with a door to paradise
As we breathe the fresh air of a new experience
The storm subsides and there’s peace in abundance
Yes, we taste the sweet avocado fruits today
With peace in my heart and dark ages gone
I face the future with giant steps
For you envelope me completely
Yes! Am convinced that ours, no storm will destroy
I love you.
