Love and Death

by Always4You   Feb 10, 2006

Walking against the tide
Hand in hand
With her at his side
Their feet left marks in the sand
He holds her and kisses her lips
She pulls him close
And wraps her arms around his hips
Their love shines brighter than the sun
She takes her hands and wipes her eyes
If only he wasn't the one
Putting her face in his neck, she starts to shake as she cries
He pulls her back to see her face
She looks at the man who loves her for her
This is the spot where they first embraced
She knew that someday, death would occur
Tightening her grip, she whispers "I'm dying."
He has a thousand questions on his mind
Before he asks, he pulls her close and starts crying
He loves her with all his heart, he could never leave her behind
"I've been dying for quite some years now."
The look on his face asks her how
"I'm dying from cancer.
I always wonder 'Why me?' but I don't have the answer."
He wipes her eyes and pulls her tighter
"I will be here for you until you pass."
On that night, their love never shined brighter
Picking her up, he layed her in the grass
They snuggled close without saying a word
He's scared of losing her, he thought as he caressed her back
The tears in his eyes made his vision blur
"When I die, I will still be here."
She never looked more beautiful than she did that night
"Our love will always persevere."
He pulled her close, holding her tight
The next few words are the last he'll hear
"I love you, I'll never leave."
With those words said, she takes her last breathe as he holds her head
Until the end of time, he will grieve
For the girl who gave him life, in him she always believed.
