TIRED OF BEING PERFECT

How come i never get to be the underdog?
I always HAVE to come out on top
i have to try my best at everything
the work just never stops
everyone else makes mistakes
but when i do i get a scold
I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend
and the good girl thing's getting old
sometimes i enjoy the attention
but it gets annoying other times
i have to be perfect at everything
even my poems have to rhyme
i cant remember the last time i took a risk
or said something out of text
Ive never been suspended from school
I'm not even allowed to have sex
now i think its time I'm unrestricted
and not treated like a fragile pearl
i understand my parents love me
but I'm no longer a little girl!
