Held

Something inside her holds her back,
It stops her from living her life,
She's afraid of it and it saddens her,
But she has not the will to fight.

It came about so slowly,
Then struck with sudden haste,
She's trapped in a downward-spiral,
Wondering if this is her destined fate.

Her cries for help go unnoticed,
As she screams in hope of relief,
Her faith, once strong, is slowly dwindling,
As she loses her inner-peace.

Her heart is bruised and her soul is battered,
Her spirit is crushed and torn,
It's times like these that break her,
As she wishes she was never born.

She doesn't know what holds her,
She just knows that it's always there,
Sucking the life from her very bones,
Destroying her without a care.

She longs for the control she once had,
With that it would all be OK,
But until she's granted her only wish,
She'll loathe to face the day...

No matter how good or bad you are at writing poems, if you write about how you truely feel deep down inside, your poems will always be perfect.
Keep writing.. You're good at it. And if you ever feel like cutting again... Try writing about it first.. take the pen instead of that knife and write down all the things that are bothering you, just go crazy. Let it all out. it doesn't have to make sense later on when you read it.. Just write. You don't have to do it everytime you feel like cutting... But try sometime.. Not only does it help you not cut, you can make some really good poems when you're filled with emotion. You'd be suprised how well you can write when you feel like crying inside.
