Drowning

As i stand here
my knee's weak & my heart heavy
i watch them drag you away
my mum says 14 years isn't long
but just the thought of you in there
makes me feel terribly wrong
it makes my heart break
& my belly flutter
i feel like im drowning in a deep lake
i don't know what im doing
im lost without you uncle
where am i going?
you wrote me a letter
& said how cold and harsh it is
& said i shouldn't come see you
its for the better
i understand
sortof
dad says i shouldn't go
that i couldn't handle to see you in there
i can't believe the law has sunk this low
but you will be out soon
only 13 years to go
