Wolf

by The Girl From Yesterday   Feb 13, 2006

Over the hills, the moon shines bright
giving to the earth, a graceful light
a lone wolf howls, ever near
calling the wolves she holds dear

an answering howl, echoes about
full of fear, full of doudt
he sings of sadness, lost and lone
as he watches, by the stone

he looks on with bated breath
watching the wolf so near to death
he licks her fur, ever slightly
the wind ripples it ever lightly
she whimpers and then closes her eyes
and as the sun rises, she forever dies
