Never to forget

by The Girl From Yesterday   Aug 8, 2008

There is a box in my closet,
hidden good and deep.
No one will ever see it,
no one, not a peep.

The box holds my past within,
trapped inside it's shell.
The secrets held in this box,
are ones I'll never tell.

It holds two shiny razor blades,
that once dripped my crimson regret.
Always there to remind me,
of things I'll never forget.

I didn't use them to kill the pain,
it wasn't that at all.
No one will understand why I did it,
during my darkest of downfalls.

Sometimes I take one blade out,
and press it to my skin.
I drag it across my wrist,
but I never let it sink in.

I don't want to go back to then,
when my life was upside down.
So I put the blade back in the box,
but I do it with a frown.

I miss the sharp feeling of the blade,
as it sinks into my skin.
As I take it out and breathe in deep,
then let it go back in.

But this will only be my past,
a distant memory.
A secret I'll keep locked away,
for no one to ever see.
