Escaping the past

by SomewhereAmongThePieces   Feb 15, 2006

My name is Tiffany
I am but thirteen
I live in a quiet and shameful box
That makes me want to scream
They say that I'm a victim
but I'm a fighter still
One day I'll be freed from this box
I'm pretty sure I will
One day all these bad memories
will fly far far away
it'll be like none of this ever happened
One day, One day, One day
Me and him will be best friends
like we always used to be
And I hope next time he lays a hand
That he will be hugging me.

My name is Tiffany Jelsma
I am all of fourteen
I live in a world that won't let go
and wants my pain it seems
they think that I'm still fighting
they don't know that I'm just fine
the more I tell them that I'm okay
They think that it's a sign
a sign a pain, a sign of fear
honestly I don't know
but it's a sign the end is near
a sign to let me go
Now he's my friend
Though not the best
but for now it will do
and time I think will heal the rest
So I can be his friend too.
