Don't Cry For Me

by OneOfTheFallen   Feb 15, 2006

You would always tell me
That you were OK
And yet you seemed to struggle
To keep the pain at bay

Why was I so stupid?
Why didn't I see?
Why didn't I act sooner?
Why did you leave me?

No smile is as beautiful
As one that struggles through tears
And yet yours always seemed
To drive away my fears

Yet, to you,
Living proved too tough
You gave up on your life (and mine)
Wasn't I enough

I walked into your room
And saw you on the floor
From numerous wounds
Blood began to pour

My skin went pale
My blood ran cold
This didn't have to happen
You knew you could have told

And as I held my dying love
And begged her not to die
Five words escaped her lips
"I love you and goodbye."

And as I cried my sorrow
A sweet voice caught my ear
I turned around with bated breath
It was my love; my near and dear

She smiled at me sorrowfully
Bowed her head and said
"Please don't cry for me...
For I'm already dead."
