All That Remains

by EpithetPoet   Feb 15, 2006

Back when we loved without remorse
I, your innumerable, you, my first
Each other's movement is all we felt
But in the shadows, darkness knelt
The fire burned my pale cheek
Twisted my tongue so i could not speak
My love for you is all i contained
And my love for you still is all that remains

Love Always

What a way to convey conviction. The story reminds me of the persecuted. What a deep love, that in spite of it all - the pain, fire, darkness - she Loves always ...

Beautiful, and lovely. Especially because its so simple. But what I do find particular - is the sense of certain security it reflects in this, this statement!

    A gorgeous declaration.
