Not Everything is What it Seems

by Rach   Feb 19, 2006

On the outside, she may seem like everything is fine
But if you look into her eyes, you won't see the twinkling shine
Her happiness she daily continues to fake
She's so afraid to make another mistake
Lately, friends seem to quickly fade
&& While everyone is in the sun, she's left in the shade
So many thoughts run through her head
But not a word is said
Many days she spends reminiscing
She feels like there's just something missing
She wants to know why so many people have lied
Do they not know all the pain that it brought to her inside?
She doesn't know who to trust anymore
Thinking that when things get tough they'll just walk out the door
She's so tired of everyone always pointing out her imperfections
But even when they do, she gives no objections
She knows she's not perfect && that she never will be
But that's something others refuse to see
They keep telling her all the things that are wrong with her
Everything's going wrong && it all becomes a blur
In herself she continues to doubt
She realizes that she can't continue to block it all out
Sooner or later, she's going to explode
&& On her face, all her emotions will be showed
Just remember this: not everything is what it seems
&& Sometimes, people's smiles, are really silent screams.
