Running On Ice

by Timothy r   Feb 19, 2006

I walk alone in my search for the right path
Never knowing where it will end
Hurtling obstacles and mindless traps
Trying to reach out for you my friend
Desperately clutching for just one strand
You always fall by the wayside
Leaving me in peril to hunt again
To locate that internal place where you hide

I feel like I am running on ice
Your breath I yearn to taste
Wanting to hold you once or twice
I am slipping over and over in one place
Please catch me before I fall too far
Melt the ground beneath my feet
Then the ice wouldn`t be so hard
And our lives together we could lead
