I don't need...

by LouAnn   Feb 19, 2006

I don't need a book
to help me understand,
the things that make you
stand out from the land.

I don't need a tear
to fall at my feet,
and tell me the reason
we came to meet.

I don't need a song
sung quietly in my ear
to push away all the lies
we have come to fear.

I don't need a song,
to call our own,
I just need a love,
with a hand to loan.

I don't need a shove,
When I'm feeling down.
and someone to push me,
way out to town.

I do need a hand,
Outsretched and strong,
to lead me through this land
Along the road so hard and long

I don't need a friend,
to wake me from this dream,
Of ghouls and monsters,
Chasing till you scream.

I do need you,
To be honest with me
As lies will hurt me more
Please tell me you see
