Lost hope....

by katie!   Feb 28, 2006

Red is the colour of love, anger, hate
Whereas black is the colour of our final fate
Blue, a shade of the loneliness I feel
My families hope lost, surely this isn't real

Screaming comes from the ward where I spend my life
Crying quietly in the night as I feel my strife
Boom is the sound as I fall to the floor
Helplessness follows me through every door

A griffin weeps gently a river of fear
Dragons roar mystery to join these sweet tears
Penguins huddle closely, protected from cold
I've lost a precious hope from a land oh so old

Blood pours swiftly from the wound on my arm
Tears of sweet crimson, nights of self harm
Bitter chocolate melts gently on the roof of my mouth
I miss feeling hopeful, feeling brilliant throughout

Running, escaping this terrible place
Falling through majestic powers to see a smile on her face
Numbness flows through me, spreading nothing right through
Dreaming of lost love dear, dreaming of you

Pyramids rise up to the heavens tonight
A beautiful spaceship prepares to take flight
Anfield roars loudly, breaking the sound scope
But where can I be if I lost all our hope

Lightning strikes mountains with beautiful force
Lava flows from volcanoes on a destructive course
Fish swim in coral reefs so many beautiful things
But by the maiden of hope I sit and I sing

I lost something else, a scarf precious to me
Went to a match, Liverpool FC
Earlier that day I'd succumbed to temptation
Blasting all hope to an eternal damnation

I miss you dear hope, dear love of mine
If you are still there, I beg you to give me a sign
I wish I could see you my families sweet love
But there are no angels from heaven, no help from above

So sad and haunting... A somber poem... Really good write. The rhyme was especially gripping and fitted the style wonderfully :)
