Say days ago my heart was heavy and full of sorrow
Suffocating beneath this heavy heart of mine
Pitter patter go the raindrops
That fall inside of my mind
Giving me the inspiration and need that I so desire to write away my heart
Longing my heart and mind
Do for a taste of your sweet
Comforting words and even
Sweeter embrace that I
Lose myself in
Say days ago my heart was jaded and torn apart
Say days ago my mind was filled with thoughts of the end
One of my own doing
Say days ago my love for you ran deeper so
Say days ago my dreams were of lonely nights alone
Now dark skies have faded
Into warm days of a summer
That I myself; a poet
Can indulge in
Say days ago I was falling and
so I knew it
Angry at a world that left me behind
Fed up with this life so dead and isolated
Buried myself alive in my poetry
Losing myself late at night
In my music and in my heart
Till you
You saved me from my certain fate
And saw past all my lies and attempts
To hide who I was
And you loved me
Say days ago I was your only
One
