The Tears In Her Eyes

by Becca   Mar 2, 2006

I saw something today,
that I never wished to see,
I saw something today,
that completely baffled me

I was walking
quietly down the hall,
when I saw a young muslim girl,
painfully trip and fall

I went to help her up,
horrified by what occured,
3 boys were standing there,
and what they did was absurd

They took her took her things,
and threw them on the floor,
and then quickly,
threw her bag against the door

I looked around quickly
but nobody was there but me.
I knew I had to do something,
her eyes gave a silent plea

I went up to the boys,
I told them what I thought
then I tried to comfort the girl,
but she was too distraught

I didn't know what to do,
I knew it wasn't her fault,
but I also knew,
something had to be done about this assault

I went to the principle,
told her what had occured,
and then I quietly told her,
just what I heard

I heard them say she was a bad person,
her country was sick,
I saw the tears in her eyes,
when they gave her a hard kick

The principle agreed with me,
this had to be put to a stop,
so we went to the boys,
and threatened to call the cops

So as you can see,
prejudice is horribly wrong,
you know the pain it causes,
so make them feel like they belong
