As I Lay

by crazygirlinluvwitu   Mar 2, 2006

Sometimes i lay,
awake in my bed,
dreams pushed aside,
thinking...
hour by hour,
morning draws closer,
but my mind just won't rest,
and I'm thinking of you..
no, i can't fight it,
and as you've told me before,
it's not love,
yet there's something,
about this sick night,
that reminds me of you,
torments my soul,
rips through my heart,
as though it was paper,
you should of known,
it wasn't fragile,
and i still beat myself up for trusting you,
i ask myself each night
before closing my thoughts,
why?
cold winter air blows,
through my window,
sweeps over my head,
and you're gone..
as the sun rises,
my somber thoughts buried,
i forget about you,
and the cold finger prints,
you left disappear,
"please let this be the final time"
i pray as i shake
because I'm trying to forget you,
until one day,
you'll only be a bittersweet, memory, and your taste,
on my lips will be gone,
just like your name,
on my heart.
