Sunrise, Sunset

by iceskateloveit   Mar 2, 2006

You are the sunrise
You are the sunset.
The only place you ever show yourself now
Is in the sky.
I wish you had stayed,
At least a little longer
For me to gather myself
And start a new.
The dawn is breaking
And I see you there
Looking down on us all,
Knowing all our secrets and fears.
You cling to the sun,
Hoping for some warmth
Anything to take away,
The cold of death.
The day is ending
Like your life did.
The sun is sinking slowly,
Into the sea.
I can hear your breath,
Like youâre right beside me.
I can hear your voice whispering
Words of comfort, âDonât cryâ.
You live in each you have touched.
We know youâre still there,
If not ion body shape and sound,
Then in mind and soul.
Did you have to go?
I ask everyone.
No one has a satisfying answer.
God calls at all hours.
