You weren't perfect, but I still Love you.

by Rachael   Mar 6, 2006

Before I was born you stayed up drinking and smoking crack.
but on the night I was born you were there and you had my back.
In your heart you knew you didn't want it to be like this.
You knew your second child's birth you couldn't bare to miss.
And I know this might be hard to believe,
but not only were you there but you delivered me.
After I was born you went back to your old ways
and was offered a job in CT just after 65 days.
You left Mommy, sister and I for quite a while.
And returned back in my life when I was just a small child.
I hated you, you were a complete stranger to me.
so you gave your heart to God and became drug-free.
Daddy ever since you made it to my first pony ride,
I knew I would find you a place with inside.
three years old I was about to die,
but you wasn't just yet ready to tell me good-bye.
You held me and told me to hang in,
Cause it couldn't be over, you had just began.
As I grew up I got a lot older
And you began to look more over my shoulder.
Looking in your eyes fear is something I see, but
being the best father is something you wanted to be.
How much you loved us this I truly know,
cause you held on, when you had a chance to give up and let go.
Daddy you have to admit how much I've grown,
Cause I pretty much have a mind of my own.
Daddy you might have not been all that perfect,
but our lives together isn't over just yet.
In spite of everything there is something thats very true.
Is Daddy I never stopped loving you!!!
