I'm Just Monique

by Beautiful   Mar 7, 2006

What is it that's so special
About me
I'm not famous or anything;
I'm just Monique.

I know what it is;
I am unique,
Because there's no one in the WORLD,

Just like me.
I guess i'm just right, for me.

Yet,

Sometimes I wish I looked like
Someone else.

Had someone else's body,
Someone else's face,

Someone else's look,
Perhaps another race.

But as i'm getting older,
I'm starting to understand,

That God, the perfect man,
Has a plan for me.

I shoudn't wish to be someone else
I see on tv,

Or to have the bodies people
Stereotype to be perfectly,

Without any glitches
Or any flaws,

Someone just perfect;
Nothing different at all.

I'm not completely happy with Myself; I bet no one is,

But my only self soother and Comforter is this:

How I am now
Is not permanent;

I won't always stay the same,

Even on the inside of me,
Everything will change.

I need to love myself
And accept who I am,

Because this is me,

Beautiful, Smart, and Talented;
I am Monique.
