Your love was just a phase

You used to say you love me,
but it was obviously just a phase,
u broke my heart into a million pieces,
and didn't even care.

you broke down my defenses,
exactly a year ago,
you found a place in my heart,
and made me believe your lies.

but then you did some terrible things,
that really tore me apart,
i did the only thing i could,
and said to you my goodbyes.

once in a poem you did say,
that you'd love me forever true,
you said no matter what i did,
your love for me would never go.

is that still the case now,
do you still care for me,
while your going out with my ex-best friend,
kissing her like i don't exist?

what happened to i love you,
till time itself ends,
how could you do this,
after all that you said?

sure me and you are no longer,
talking or friends,
as you went and broke my heart,
but why do it again?

so i suppose that i learn my lesson,
never believe a guy,
they all hurt you more than you can deal with,
and leave you alone to die.
