A Memory of Stars

by Glai   Mar 8, 2006

When it breaks my heart to put down in words
Why I have never packed away my memories of you
And when the ink that falls from the tip of my pen
Creates a constellation of stars upon my sheets
It reminds me of how as if by accident we crashed and never recovered

When the same constellation would stare back at me
Lying on the pillow that once held your face beside me
And even though youve since then faded away
I find myself holding the sill beside the broken windows
Watching for you to come back home

And I can still see clearly the constellation of stars
As they fall without me knowing from my eyes
And even if I could cry a rain of diamonds
I would never see clearer than I had before
For I could never stop loving these memories of you
