A Dewy Drop of Air

by Glai   Mar 18, 2006

I remember days when the sun was bright
And the winds would change every minute or so
The scent of your skin would cradle me to sleep
I use to walk along the sea wall
Asking the gulls if there was someplace
Beyond the rolling white peaks that I could call home
And drinking in the moist dewy air I could taste it
The freshness of life and the future that it holds
Because everytime the clouds would dim and wash the beach with rain
I could breathe in the hope that you spoke of with such sweet words.

And now that the sun has set and the gulls have slept
With the gentle fading turfs the playful wind dancing amongst the stars
I can see the moon as I lay upon your chest
Reflected in your eyes and into mine
The future
Our future with your wrinkled hand and my wrinkled hand entwined
