The grappler

by megan   Mar 8, 2006

There once was a grappler
Who stood tall and strong
Everyone said he wouldnt make it
But he wanted to prove them wrong

So he worked each day
From morning until night
He wanted to show them
That he was right

The more he worked out
The better he became
They never expected
One day he would reach fame

First came sectionals
That was a breeze
Then came districts
Everyone thought he was a tease

In the end he made it to state
They called it luck
There he stood on the mat
Next to another grappler " his mate"

The match started slow
Point by point they battled
He got the grappler on his back
Who won??? Who knows?

The grappler stand center of the mat
Arm in the refs hand
It gets raised as they cheer
The whole section starts to stand

The grappler did it!
Thats all there is to say
He proved everyone wrong
And we're proud of him to this day

Yet the journey isn't over
it's yet just begun
That same little grappler is in the gym
Working out, starting to run

Even though seasons over
And the mats are rolled up and put away
he's still out there sweaty as can be
Working out everyday
