Paint Me Who I Am (not someone else)

by Jenny   Mar 12, 2006

Dark and dull paint
Gliding across the wall
Paint me who I am
And paint me kind of tall.

Paint my eyes so green
Paint my blackish tears
Make sure my pupils are plenty big
For they can show my fears.

Paint my every imperfection
On my hopeless face
Make sure to get it just like me
So you won't struggle to erase.

Don't paint me with a smile
For it wasn't meant to be
Inside I feel so empty
Just paint me, me.

Paint the many scars
Show them the real sight
Paint everything that lies within
Paint everything just right.

And when you finish painting
Be sure to look at the end
And fill in the gap in my heart
To help my broken pieces mend.

Once I'm all together
I will no longer be
The dark shadow on your wall
You never wanted to see.

I will be the happiest thing
And my smile will be so bright
But that will just be you trying to see
What will never be right.
