A Real Man

by Heatha Ashlee   Mar 15, 2006

Not all men will put you through pain
My mother effortlessly tried to explain

But how is that true?!?
When it happened to every man I gave my heart to

Sometimes I just feel hopeless
Because love always turns into a complicated mess

Along the years I've come to a conclusion
Just a thought, not exactly a solution

The definition of a man is what people never realize
It has nothing to do with age, intelligence, or size

A real man would never hurt a lady
He wouldn't treat her bad or act shady

He doesn't have to have a lot of money
As long as you're his only honey

The love he shows for only you
Is what makes a man true

Any boy can hurt someone's heart
But a man wouldn't think of doing that from the start

A real man has never dated me
I told my mom honestly
