Awaiting Hello

by Nicole   Mar 15, 2006

We were strangers,
Forever searching for answers in this world.
Time seemed to slow,
Binding us in a forever childhood.
Anxious to experience the of the land we lived.

But as some things happen,
in our busy or boring lives,
Two roads crossed and fate leap forth
Between a Troubled Mind and a Lost Soul.

If not fate, perhaps Destiny.
Anxious hearts meet pain and reality.
Yet slip away to a wonderful fantasy.
Somehow life's simplicity's wasn't enough to keep us at bay,
already loved and nothing could satisfy what kept the hunger in our souls.

Perhaps that is why we met,
and our life's flashed before our eyes in a different way,
words could never define.
True, these two hearts have met.
Without the touch of soft lips,
or hands enclosed in the other.

We looked so hard for a challenge in our life's,
And now we have it.
The greatest, hardest, most painful challenge that we could ever face,
and perhaps more than we asked for.

We've faced life...many deaths, a thousand regrets and endless betrayal.
Now we must overcome longing, loneliness, and bitter pain.
But if we do this, we will get the greatest prize of all.

And that will be the day,
that our lips will meet,
our hands will touch,
and we will create the most beautiful gift.
A gift that many will never truly grasp or experience.

We have searched for it all our life,
and that will make our life complete.

Love.

Not the kind that your mother tells you each night she tucks you into bed,
but the love that gives you the strength to live on,
through the times it seems where life has no meaning, and you feel you must end it.
That love will conquer.

I know the distance is far, and the journey is long,
but the love we have will pull us through,
and in each others arms is where we'll soon be.

And this is the love I promise when i say "I love you."...
