I am home

by Brooke Mason   Mar 16, 2006

I thought that I was alone
fear, anger, hatred, sorrow
this was all that I could come up with
I had grown accustomed to it

As i was sitting in the rain,
I saw the clouds open up
and a voice ringing down from heaven
"Come my child...come home."

I was frightened, ever so frightened
Never had I heard such a voice,
such a heavenly voice!
My heart was beating rapidly
and I slowly turned to look up.

There was a man, dressed in white,
blood flowing from his palms.
He said to me, "My child, look what I've done.
Look what I've done for you.
I sacrificed, and I loved...
now what have you done for me?"

Tears, so many tears came forth
I could not stop so many tears!!
I threw myself at his feet, unable to control it
"Father...I am home."

(first ever christian poem, so it's kinda rough)
