The Road Worth Passing

by sami   Mar 18, 2006

Twisting and winding
It snakes through the land
No good, all sorrow
I'll hold your hand

The road worth passing
But you took it anyways
You thought it'd take you
To see better days

There's horror in the bushes
And fear in the dirt
Not to mention in the trees
Is sadness and hurt

The wind howls secrets
Of days better spent
The shadows tell stories
Of truth that was bent

The road worth passing
But you took it anyways
You thought it'd take you
To see better days

The vines that climb higher
Call out your name
They promise you love
But they're all the same

The sun holds the key
To the forbidden door
Telling tales of frail,
Forgotten lore

The road worth passing
But you took it anyways
You thought it'd take you
To see better days

As you progress through
This desolate place
It reminds you of
Everyone's face

The faces of people
Who ripped out your heart
The same ones who promised
That you'd never part

The road worth passing
But you took it anyways
You thought it'd take you
To see better days
