A Part of Me

A part of me

you have become

this fact is known

to only some

you don't even know

your effect on me

so in this poem

you will see.

The music from your heart

has improved my life

it helped me make changes

instead of using a knife

You turned me away

from my lonely stages

And in my book

you turned the pages

Brighter days

in my life I see

because the effect

you had on me

you turned my head up

when it was down

I thought I was lost

but me you have found

So now I'm open

to people and places

I've been talking to

less familiar faces

Spreading the word of God

is a goal you endeavor

I got the message

and am now a believer.
