Nasty Dream

by Amy   Mar 20, 2006

You walk slowly up to me
a slight twitch in your side
you cup my face and kiss it
and say your final goodbye

you burst into flames
i wake and scream
i cry and cry and cry
until i realize its just a dream

you walk slowly up to me
your eyes small black bolts
your face so close you calmly say
its your fault its your fault its your fault

you burst into flames
i wake and scream
i cry and cry and cry
until i realize its just a dream

the dreams continue to come
and each night i weep
dreading each kiss goodnight
for the nightmares in my sleep

the next night i wake up
with a familiar scent in the air
something cups both my hands
and whispers in my ear

it says that its all OK
it was just a nasty dream
theres nothing to be scared of
theres nothing wrong with me

it hugs me and kisses my cheek
and whispers me not to weep
just to lie back down on my bed
and go back to sleep

i know that voice
and i know that smell
my boyfriend from the dreams
its you, i can tell

you kiss my cheek
and touch my hair
but when i open my eyes
nothing is there
