The Love That Never Came

by EddieDeLaRosa   Jan 25, 2004

Yes I will marry you
Her lips turn moist and full of hue
I can not believe it…it can not be
That you are interested in little old me
She looked at the ceiling she looked at the floor
look in his face and said, I'm not sure
You will embark in a journey away from these shores
What will I be without the presence of thee
How will I feel when you pack up and leave
“Please do not worry please do not frown
In the blink of an eye ill be back in this town
Full of riches and hugs
For you my true love”
He left in a rainySunday night
He promised he'll call he promised he'll write
6 months have past she read none of his words
the sound of his voice has yet to be heard
why doesn't he call?
Does he want me at all?
I went to dock and began to wait
the place were people meet and also separate
I sat in the dock to wait for his boat
That boat that will come far from the coast
I waited for him everyday of the week
when I saw a new boat my heart skipped a beat
Days turned to weeks years felt like days
Her skin became wrinkled her hair became gray
Every day of the week she wears the same dress
she wore this dress the day that he left
She didn't wear this dress to look slim and slender
She wore the old dress so he can remember
people thought it was stupid and lame
That's why the crazy dock women was her nick name
One day the police came, and began to spray
mase in her eyes to take her away
Even though she felt incredible pains
She tried to run but slipped in the rain
She dove in the water hoping to flee
She swam deep in the water were the cops could not see
"What do we do what if she drowns?"
"Whats the big deal one less kook in this town"
She rose to the surface the cops weren't there
She cleaned her eyes, nose, and her hair
The next day she was there, there for the wait
Cuz is never to early and never to late
What she doesn't know everyday will be the same
She will wait an eternity for the husband, lover, friend that never came.
