A Worn Path

by Jo   Mar 22, 2006

We've been down this road before,
You tell yourself.
There's always a dead end,
And nowhere else to go.

You turn back around,
Again and again.
But you never see the signs along the way,
Telling you to go back.

The signs say the same things,
Every single time.
But you just ignore them,
And hide the truth whenever asked.

People see the scars and the pain in your eyes,
But you deny it's even there.
You try to pretend you're okay,
Knowing inside that you're not.

They try to help you,
Before it's too late.
But they don't realize,
That you're traveling down an already worn path.
