Shadows of memories...

by SplitSided   Mar 23, 2006

An echo of laughter.
A memory that is slightly blurred.
Songs that remind us of what we were.
Time has grabbed us by the wrist.
And experience has showed us what we missed.
Some of my closest friends are now gone.
And I can see where we all went wrong.
A wall that is full of jokes and quotes.
An anchor for the memory.
I look around the room but I only see me.
The room is empty.
Silence has a hold on the room.
Silence will take a hold of us too.
We will all break away.
With few words to say.
I wish things didn't have to be this way.
A group of kids that would hold together forever.
Are to be together, never.
The room is all we have now.
The echoe's of laughter go out.
Silence once again.
The room goes cold and quiet.
Then frozen and silent.
I close my eyes and am brought to back then.
God, I wish we could do it again.
Just once more, one last time.
One last time for old times sake.
I open my eyes and my happiness begins to break.
Echo's ring in my minds eye.
And that feeling of happiness begins to die.
The room is dark and morose.
The cold and silence begins to grow.
The floor is stain'd with ashes.
That's just a part of the past.
I close the door and turn out the light.
And kill everything that felt so right.
As the door begins to close.
The memories turn to shadows...
