Her city

by natalie   Mar 23, 2006

Like building in the sky
they collapsed in her eyes
like buildings in her mind
they collapse and die.

Her worries, thoughts and tears
are her own destruction
but they are always
her main function.

She longs for a marble city
were peoples faces blossom,
so pure and witty it
would be the perfect city.

Her buildings come and go like leaves,
they rot in the ground yet they make
no sound.
Her buildings exploring into the sky
like skyscrapers, they submerge
her perfect world.

These buildings are her ambitions
these buildings are her tuition,
just like a dream she longs to believe, that one day there
will be a city no-one wants to leave.

*This poem is about how i look and see all the changes that have been made to the cities.Old traditional buildings pulled down and replaced with modern ones. I dream of a city so pure were people are happy and the buildings remain.*
