Way of the World

Everyone always thinks that their all alone,
so they pity themselves as they mutter and moan.
They wonder why life always treats them so bad,
and why everyone else always seems to be glad.
They say that luck favors everyone else in their life,
but all that they get is more pain, and more strife.
They believe life is unfair, cause they don't have it all,
they must think for the rest of us, life is a ball.
They think that no one could have trouble like them,
that everyone's steady, but their stuck on a limb.
I only wish they could see once thru my eyes,
they'd be in for a shock, and a nasty surprise.
Every person is equal, no one's better, or worse,
those that they love, are just like those that they curse.
They may be out on a limb, but the whole tree's unsteady,
and when it finally fall's, they'll complain they wasn't ready.
They obsess because others have some things that they don't,
but, why can't they see they own things others won't?
They think that their different, that we're not all the same,
that they deserve more, cause they had more demons to tame.
I know that I'm just like everyone else on this Earth,
I began my journey to the grave on the day of my birth.
So, I have one request, one great rallying call,
Don't just pity yourself, for God's sake pity us all.
