Walking Away

by Shalisa   Mar 25, 2006

I look into your glazed brown eyes
Beyond the broken promises and shattered lies
I see right past your gentle disguise
And right into our loves demise.

You words are heard, but they aren't true
Not when your actions display the real you
Together, forever, we will never be
My love, and your lust, won't last an eternity.

This pain is hidden deep within my soul
You have me trapped, under only your control
I need to be released, and walk away
Never to look back, with nothing left to say.

I forgave and forgave you for your mistakes
Hoping it was just a nightmare and soon I'd wake
But again and again I felt my heart break
Now I have realized, it is a risk I won't ever take.

Tears roll down my cheeks and leave a black smear
I would have gave anything just to have you here
You chose to leave me on my own
To face this dark world all alone.

I kiss your forehead and let you see my cry
I ask if it is worth losing me, so you can be high
I'm sorry I wont watch you fade away
But I guess it's over- and thats all I have left to say.

* Drugs and alcohol can ruin relationships and lives. I can't handle watching the person I love most in this world doing that. This poem is about losing someone you love because they chose something else over you.
