Anticipating the death of a loved one

by rosie tuff   Mar 26, 2006

Anticipating the death of a loved one,
its you hard in the heart.
Unimaginable, excrutiating pain,
Knowing that one day soon...
You must say goodbye.

One more \"I love you\"
And that\'s the last breath they shall draw.
They slip out of their body, as a spirit.
And are with you no more.

I know that someday soon,
Our paths will once more cross.
Until that day, I\'m all alone,
And you are in my memory,
Never forgotten, Never lost.

I spend the time I have left with you,
Worrying how to use it to the full.
When I know that I should be acting normal,
Making sure your last days are not dull.

I know I\'ll seem quite blasé,
It doesn\'t mean that I don\'t care.
The exact opposite!
It\'ll never be right when you\'re not there...
I\'m not ready to say goodbye,
The time\'s not right for you to go.
But when It comes, just keep in mind,
You\'ll always be with me, in my heart, my head...
And I\'ll always love you so.

\'Till the day I die,
Join you up above,
For all, the end is nigh.
And all we can do is love.
