A short fairytale

by Flying Phoenix   Mar 26, 2006

Once upon a time
In a distant land
Lived a handsome young man
With much money to hand

One day he set out
From his beautiful home
Away on his steed
He travelled alone

Till he came upon a village
So delicate and quaint
That his heart fell in love
And made his body feel faint

He jumped from his horse
And rested under a blossoming tree
With a stunning sunset
All around him to see

A fair maiden walked by
And was shocked by the sight
Of such a lovely young man
Sleeping alone in the dimming light

So she lay by his side
And plaited daisies in his hair
Humming softly to herself
As close as she did dare

In the dawn he awoke
And gazed down at her face
Her perfect features illuminated
Making his loving heart race

Love at first sight
Was what he did have
Without her by him forever
He would surely go mad

He plucked a rose from the ground
And placed it close to her heart
And whispered in her ear
That they should never be apart

His words make her wake
And caused joyful laughter
From then on they did live
Happily ever after...
